Late Night Packing
Why is it that the actual packing is always left to the last moment?
From my calculations we'll be about 200lb (91kg) underweight, even with full tanks. Good thing we're not taking another person! There'd barely be room for clothes or anything else..
Cheers! Abri
Tomorrow's the big day!
Well tomorrow morning we're off! The weather looks like it will be good except for some morning fog. We wanted to go real early but unfortunately someone came back too late with the machine and it missed its oil change, so that will be done early tomorrow. Jaco the friendly mechanic is coming in early especially for us. Thanks man! We'll probably take off at 10am SAST Or so.

Our Approximate Route
Here is a rough overview of approximately the route we intend to follow.
On the first day we will go from Cape Town to PE, and then stay over at a friend's house,
Day two will be the trip from PE via Queenstown to Gariep Dam, where we'll spend the night.
Day Three will be the leg from Gariep Dam via Bloemfontein to Potch. We're going to stay in Potch for a few days, visiting some friends and family, and then start the trip back. We can either route back via Victoria West and Beaufort, sort of the boring direct back home over the N1, or follow the Orange River to the West Coast, and then fly back south that way.
We'll have to see which one seems the better choice as the trip progresses.
Have to go now! Gotta go pack and get a good night's rest.
